Melvin Hawkes Funeral

Mel completed his journey on Earth and passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2018, of kidney failure. While he may be gone physically, his influence was widespread and will live on in the lives of the many people he touched as a husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, teacher, principal and friend.
Mel was an extraordinary man who was always kind and compassionate, humble, and full of integrity. He loved to learn about everything and anything. An extremely hard worker, he was meticulous and creative in all that he did. He supported anyone who was engaged in doing good. He also was quick to laugh and always had a joke. These qualities served him well as an outstanding elementary school teacher and principal in the Weber School District for 34 years, as well as a loving father and grandfather.
